The company reported pXRF-based XREO intervals including 5.7m at 1,393ppm from 1m in hole BLH0289 and 5.5m at 1,218ppm from surface in BLH0290. Alvo cautioned that pXRF readings are preliminary, measure only cerium, lanthanum and yttrium oxides, and are not a substitute for laboratory assays.
Alvo said it had drilled 55 auger holes for 370m across the Florence area, about 6km south of its Boa Vista prospect. The company reported no laboratory assay results in the announcement.
Of the 55 holes with pXRF results, Alvo said eight returned at least one reading above 1,000ppm XREO and 32 recorded readings above 500ppm XREO. The company identified the undrilled western area as a drilling priority after its westernmost holes returned the best results to date.
Alvo said samples are pending at SGS Geosol and that Florence drill samples will be dispatched for full rare earth suite assays and desorption testing. Planned work includes completing auger drilling and pXRF screening, testing the western area with truck-mounted auger drilling, and completing an EM survey.
