AIC Mines hits 46.4m at 3.6% copper and 1.0g/t gold at Brumby

AIC Mines has intersected the highest-grade copper-gold mineralisation reported to date at its Brumby prospect, returning 46.4 metres at 3.6 per cent copper and 1.0 gram per tonne gold from the first diamond hole targeting a higher-grade shoot.

Strong result from first targeted diamond hole

Hole BRDD001 returned 46.4 metres at 3.6 per cent copper and 1.0 gram per tonne gold from 146.5 metres. The interval included 10.5 metres at 14.4 per cent copper and 3.8 grams per tonne gold from 151.5 metres.

The hole was drilled as a step-out from historical drilling to test a higher-grade, plunging copper-gold shoot within a broader sulphide-magnetite breccia pipe.

Brumby elevated in the exploration pipeline

The result has increased the priority of Brumby within AIC Mines’ North Queensland exploration portfolio. The prospect forms part of the company’s broader Eloise regional package south-east of Cloncurry, where AIC operates the Eloise underground copper-gold mine and processing plant.

The proximity of an operating mine and concentrator adds strategic relevance to a discovery, but Brumby does not yet have a Mineral Resource, mine plan or development decision.

Follow-up work being planned

AIC Mines is assessing the result alongside pending geochemical and gravity data to refine the geometry and scale of the mineralised system. Follow-up drilling is being planned to test continuity of the higher-grade shoot and the broader breccia target.

Exploration workforce implications

The announcement does not identify specific vacancies. A larger follow-up program could support requirements for exploration geologists, drill-site personnel, field teams, core processing, logistics, survey and laboratory services as the target is advanced.

Next steps

The company will integrate the new drilling result with the outstanding datasets and define the next phase of drilling at Brumby.
