NA16037 Resource Definition Geologist | Mining Employment Services

Our client, a leading, globally relevant gold miner, is looking for a Resource Definition Geologist to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a first-tier mining company!

Reporting to the senior geologist and project geologist, you will also plan projects, analyse data and report on results as directed.

Requirements:

Tertiary qualification in geology or geosciences;
Understanding of relevant sections of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations;
Intermediate skills with modelling software (Datamine, Leapfrog, or similar) and database software (acQuire or similar).

Position Duties:

Evaluation of exploration targets to assess the likelihood of economic viability and input into site database;
Prepare drill proposals as directed, outlining justification and recommendations for testing high-ranking exploration targets;
Drill program execution - including drill rig supervision and support, digital logging, daily communication with project geologists, and ensuring all drilling consumables are provided.
Preparing completion reports on targets as directed, outlining results, validations, QAQC, and recommendations;
Completion of field investigations, including mapping and surface sampling (geochemical and rock chip);
Preparation of data tables and reports for weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements as directed;
Assume the project geologist’s responsibilities in their absence.
