Mining Employment Services is currently seeking an experienced Earthworks / Field Assistant for a contract opportunity with a growing Western Australian gold producer.

This role will support the exploration and resource development team with general field activities, including assistance around drill pad preparation, access tracks, sumps, rehabilitation areas and day-to-day exploration support work.

The position would suit a practical, safety-focused person with previous field assistant, earthworks, civil, exploration or mining support experience.

To be considered, you will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in exploration, mining, civil earthworks, field assistant or similar hands-on site roles;
  • Current Australian manual driver’s licence;
  • 4WD experience highly regarded;
  • White Card highly regarded;
  • Loader, skid steer, excavator, HR licence or other machinery tickets highly regarded;
  • Senior First Aid highly regarded;
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow direction;
  • Strong safety focus and willingness to work outdoors in remote conditions;
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen.

Position Duties:

  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of drill pads, access tracks and exploration work areas;
  • Support site earthworks activities including sumps, tracks, drill access and general field preparation;
  • Liaise with geologists, field crews, drill crews and contractors;
  • Assist with spotting, site checks and general work area preparation;
  • Conduct vehicle checks, equipment checks and basic field documentation;
  • Maintain safe and tidy work areas around exploration and earthworks activities;
  • Assist with sample movement, field logistics and general exploration support when required;
  • Follow all site safety procedures and environmental requirements.
