An opportunity has become available for a Mine Geologist to join a large-scale lithium operation in WA’s Eastern Goldfields on an initial 6-month contract. This role offers the chance to step into a hands-on production environment, supporting daily geology activities and working closely with operations to deliver safe and efficient outcomes.
Working on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth, you will play a key role in ore control, pit mapping, and production support within a collaborative site team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will be responsible for delivering day-to-day geology production tasks, ensuring accuracy of geological data and supporting operational decision-making.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Geology
- 2+ years’ experience in a mine geology or production-focused role
- Strong exposure to open pit operations (gold experience highly regarded)
- Experience with ore control, mapping and grade control processes
- Familiarity with software such as Leapfrog, Surpac or similar
- Strong attention to detail and data quality
- Current manual driver’s licence
Position Duties:
- Daily geology reporting and contribution to production meetings
- Conducting pit inspections and providing operational guidance
- Ore mark-ups, dig block development and blast movement analysis
- Face and floor mapping, with updates to geological databases
- Monitoring ROM and crusher feed compliance
- Supporting reconciliation activities and QA/QC processes
- Assisting with drill pattern inspections and production scheduling
- Working closely with Pit Technicians and operations teams
