Mining Employment Services is currently seeking a Pit Technician for an open-pit operation located just 7 minutes from camp.

This position is site-based and suited to candidates with open-pit exposure, strong field skills, and a practical safety-first approach.

About the Role

You will support the Geology and Technical Services team with day-to-day grade control and ore mark-up activities, helping maximise ore recovery and minimise dilution.

About You

  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Experience in open pit mining (or around RC drill rigs highly regarded)
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Competent computer/data entry skills
  • Current C Class Manual Driver’s Licence

Desirable

  • Geoscience Field and/or Mining Practices certificate
  • Forklift ticket
  • Senior First Aid

Position Duties:

  • Assist with grade control drill programs (set-out, pegging, sample bag prep, liaising with drillers, sample collection);
  • Maintain accurate records of drilled holes, surveys and sample dispatch;
  • Conduct ore spotting and floor level checks;
  • Help ensure mined material is directed to the correct stockpile;
  • Install BVI’s and BMM’s as required;
  • Carry out ore block mark-outs (painting/taping) and support survey;
  • Collect bulk density samples;
  • Complete production/logging/sampling data entry;
  • Maintain geology consumables and field supplies;
  • Support geology and mining teams as required.
