Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer for their exciting nickel operation in Ravensthorpe WA.
They are a global base metals company, operating long-life mines in several countries and employing approximately 20,000 people worldwide.
Job Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification - Mining Engineering;
- Competence in Surpac, Deswik and/or MineSched;
- Technical competence in short-medium term planning and aptitude for interrogating plan output data;
- Thorough knowledge of mine site operations and a comprehensive understanding of a mine sites’ commercial structure;
- Ability to liaise with stakeholders and work with them on diverse issues;
- Ability to work autonomously, producing comprehensive reports, retrospective analysis, budgets and forecasts for all business units of the mine site operation;
- Strong understanding of business improvement principles, and an aptitude for identifying and instigating efficiency optimisation opportunities;
- This is a residential role in Hopetown.
Position Duties:
- Development of the rolling 3-month mine plan and accurate and timely delivery of the mining schedule and associated deliverables to all stakeholders;
- Reconciliation of the three-month plan to other planning horizons;
- Assist with preparation of budgets, forecasts and other plans and schedules;
- Deliver operational pit designs and related infrastructure designs for three-month schedules to maximise the value of the mining business;
- Assist with the optimisation of the long-term plans (up to 5 Years), through application of sound mining engineering design and strategic consideration;
- Conducting project planning, producing project schedules, analysing project progress and reporting on the project planning indicators;
- Reviewing drill and blast designs submitted by mining contractor for subsequent approval.
