Our client, a well-regarded ASX-listed Australian gold producer, is seeking an experienced and motivated Core Yard Technician with hands-on RC and Diamond Drill (DD) core processing experience. This is a short-term contract opportunity to assist with a core backlog while supporting an established and high-performing gold mining operation on a FIFO 2:1 roster.
Requirements:
- Willingness to take on a variety of physical, field-based tasks
- Strong understanding of exploration and mining processes
- Proven diamond core and RC sampling experience (essential)
- Current WA C-Class manual driver’s licence
- Strong safety-first mindset
- Ability to work effectively in a small, close-knit team
- Confidence to work independently when required
- Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills
Position Duties:
- Drill core operations: mark-up, orientation, photography, magnetic susceptibility, RQD, densities, recoveries, cutting and sampling;
- Coreyard processing: prioritising diamond core for grade control, resource, and exploration programs;
- Drill chip sampling: RC and Diamond;
- Drill chip handling: collection, washing, storage, and chipping;
- Applying and maintaining Company QAQC procedures;
- Tackling a wide range of other exploration and coreyard duties as needed
