An exciting opportunity is available for a Field Assistant / Geological Technician to join a growing exploration team working across projects in the Yandal Greenstone Belt, WA.
This role will suit someone with 3+ years’ experience in exploration or mining environments, who is hands-on, reliable, and confident supporting drilling programs and core processing in a remote field setting.
About the Role
Working on a 13/8 or 2/1 FIFO roster, you will support day-to-day exploration activities from a newly established 21-person camp. This is a varied role with a mix of field work and core yard responsibilities, assisting the geology team across active drilling programs.
About You
- 3+ years’ experience in a Field Assistant or Geo Tech role
- Experience working around RC and/or diamond drill rigs
- Familiarity with diamond core processing (highly regarded)
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in remote, physically demanding environments
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
- Current manual driver’s licence (preferred)
Position Duties:
- Assist with RC and diamond drilling programs
- Processing and handling diamond core (cutting, metre marking, orientation lines, photography)
- RC sample collection, handling and QA/QC support
- General field assistance including drill pad prep and site support
- Maintain accurate sample records and assist with data entry
- Ensure a strong focus on safety and housekeeping in both field and core yard environments
