Our client, a dominant explorer, developer, operator, and gold mining company, is seeking an experienced Core Yard Technician to join their team at a prolific gold operation in the outback of Western Australia. Roster FIFO 14:14.

Requirements:

  • Diamond Core and RC sampling experience;
  • Hold a current WA C-class Driver’s Licence (manual);
  • High-risk work licence (forklift, loader, backhoe);
  • Must have a strong safety focus;
  • Ability to work effectively within a small team;
  • Excellent record-keeping skills;
  • National Police Clearance;
  • Valid C Class Driver's Licence.

Position Duties:

  • Core sampling — bagging and labelling, QA/QC samples, and maintaining chain of custody;
  • Metre marking, accurate metre marks along core trays and reconciliation to downhole depths;
  • RQD measurements -: measure recovery, count fractures, and record RQD per interval;
  • Core orientation, record structure measurements, and note any loss/uncertainty;
  • Magnetic susceptibility — take meter readings at specified intervals and log results to database/sheets.
Experience
Min 12 months experience in a similar role for a gold miner or exploration company.
