An established underground mining operation in regional Western Australia is seeking an experienced Ventilation Engineer to join its Technical Services team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a ventilation professional looking to work in a technically challenging underground environment, with responsibility for ventilation planning, modelling, optimisation and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain underground ventilation plans and networks.
- Conduct ventilation surveys and analyse ventilation performance.
- Complete ventilation modelling and optimisation using Ventsim.
- Design primary and secondary ventilation systems.
- Support ventilation requirements for development and production activities.
- Identify ventilation constraints and implement practical engineering solutions.
- Monitor air quality, airflow and ventilation compliance.
- Prepare ventilation plans, reports and technical documentation.
- Work closely with Mining Engineering, Production and Underground Management teams.
- Support ventilation infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Underground mining ventilation experience.
- Strong understanding of underground ventilation systems and principles.
- Proficiency with Ventsim or comparable ventilation software.
- Knowledge of WA underground mining legislation and ventilation requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Previous WA underground mining experience highly regarded.
