A successful Western Australian gold mining operation is seeking an experienced Underground Manager to lead underground mining activities and deliver safe, efficient, and productive outcomes.
Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, this role will be responsible for providing operational leadership across underground mining activities, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, achieving production targets, and driving continuous improvement across the operation.
About You:
- Proven experience as an Underground Manager, Alternate Underground Manager, or senior underground mining leader
- Strong background in underground hard rock gold mining
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing underground teams
- Experience managing production, development, and underground mining contractors
- Strong understanding of underground mining methods, safety systems, and statutory requirements
- Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
Essential Requirements:
- WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate
- Extensive underground mining leadership experience
- Strong understanding of mining legislation and compliance requirements
- Ability to work a BIBO or DIDO roster within Western Australia

Position Duties:
- Provide strong leadership and direction across underground mining operations.
- Ensure safe production outcomes are achieved in line with site targets and business objectives.
- Lead and develop underground leadership teams, including supervisors and operational personnel.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, and cost performance.
- Manage underground mining activities including development, production, scheduling, and contractor performance.
- Ensure compliance with the WHS Act 2020, WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022, and site safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with Technical Services, Maintenance, Processing, and other departments.
- Monitor operational performance and implement improvement strategies.
