MES is seeking a Senior Open Pit Drill & Blast Engineer to work for our client, a global lithium producer with operations and advanced projects in Australia and the Americas, for their operation in the Great Southern Region.
This role is also suitable for candidates looking to step up into a Senior position.
Requirements:
- Tertiary level Mining Engineering degree;
- Western Australian 'C' Class Drivers License;
- WA Unrestricted Quarry Manager’s certificate of competency (desirable not essential);
- Competent in Drill & Blast design in hard rock;
- Proficient using Surpac, Shotplus & MineSched software.
Position Duties:
- Responsible for the optimal design and scheduling of safe and efficient drilling and blasting activities;
- Pit and infrastructure design;
- Liaise with the Mine Production Engineer (Scheduling) to ensure the short-term plan meets the requirements of the budget and forecasts;
- Weekly planning;
- Manage and administer the supply of drilling and blasting consumables, products and services;
- Working closely with operations, ore control, mine and geotechnical engineering, environment and community, and processing to ensure across site focus to optimal drill and blast design;
- Record and use production data to domain the orebody in drill and blast domains;
- Operate in an environment that focuses on safe, cost-effective production and technical excellence, you will also assist with the generation of annual budgets.
Experience
4+ years experience in a mining environment.
