Lindian said the power line from Chingeni Substation now provides dedicated grid supply to Kangankunde. The company said the milestone was achieved about two weeks ahead of schedule, ahead of staged process-plant commissioning.
The company said Stage 1 plant demand is just under 3 MVA and that the system includes two 4 MVA transformers intended to provide capacity and standby redundancy. Lindian said staged commissioning remains scheduled for late November 2026, with commercial production targeted for December 2026.
Lindian said the broader power infrastructure programme is tracking about 20% below its approved budget. It also said design optimisation generated approximately US$80,000 in further savings and improved maintainability of the site electrical network.
The company said 360 kW of solar capacity is operating across accommodation, administration and clinic facilities. A further 160 kW of solar capacity is targeted for completion in October and November 2026, which Lindian said would bring dedicated solar generation for non-process infrastructure to about 520 kW.
