Fenix Resources reported that mining operations at the Beebyn Hub had commenced, with mining from W10 under way and new long-term infrastructure substantially completed. The company reported a maiden Beebyn Hub Ore Reserve of 26.9Mt at 60.0% Fe, comprising reserves at Beebyn-W11 and Beebyn-W10 Stage 1.
The company said its 5Mtpa Beebyn Hub crushing and screening plant had been commissioned and expects full ramp-up during the current quarter. Fenix said the plant is expected to lower unit processing costs for the remainder of FY27.
Fenix maintained FY27 guidance for total iron ore sales of 4.7Mt to 5.3Mt and C1 cash costs of A$70/wmt to A$80/wmt FOB Geraldton. It said September-quarter group C1 cash costs were A$81.8/wmt, citing lower shipment volumes, the Beebyn Hub transition and higher diesel costs, and expects costs to reduce in the second half of FY27.
The Weld Range Project DFS advanced during the September quarter and is now targeted for completion in the first half of calendar 2027, rather than the second half of calendar 2026. Fenix said it was progressing discussions with prospective project finance providers in parallel with the DFS and expects to consider a final investment decision during 2028.
