Boss Energy outlines nine-year production plan for Honeymoon

Boss Energy has released a new feasibility study for its Honeymoon uranium operation in South Australia, setting out a revised production pathway based on a wider-spaced in-situ recovery wellfield design.

The 27 August 2026 study forecasts approximately 13.8 million pounds of drummed U3O8 over a nine-year operating period, with production reaching 1.9 million pounds a year from FY2030 to FY2033. The plan supports continued production to at least FY2034.

Wider well spacing changes the cost base

Boss said the revised design would reduce wellfield infrastructure by about 50% compared with applying the historical design to the updated resource. It forecasts a life-of-mine average C1 cost of A$50 per pound and an all-in sustaining cost of A$79 per pound to 2034.

The company expects the wider spacing to lift the average uranium concentration in pregnant leach solution by about 28%. On a like-for-like basis, it estimates the design reduces life-of-mine all-in sustaining costs by approximately A$30 per pound compared with the original planned well spacing applied to the updated resource.

Existing plant remains central to the plan

The study retains full use of Honeymoon's existing processing plant, trunklines and other established infrastructure. Boss said the operation has produced more than 2.3 million pounds of drummed U3O8 since restarting in April 2024.

Additional facilities capital is estimated at A$48 million over the next three years and A$58 million over the life of mine, with most other capital classified as sustaining expenditure phased as new wellfields come online.

The updated Honeymoon Mineral Resource is 21.4 million tonnes at 440 parts per million U3O8 for 20.8 million pounds of contained U3O8 at a 100 ppm cut-off. The estimate is 66% Indicated and 34% Inferred.

Approvals and optimisation remain ahead

Brooks Dam North contributes about 15% of forecast production and requires the planned Honeymoon Mine Extension, with approvals targeted by 2030. The separate Jasons and Gould's Dam resources are not included in the study's production plan.

The transition to new wellfield development, continued optimisation and future approvals could support ongoing demand for specialised mining, processing, maintenance, project and technical capability, subject to Boss Energy's implementation decisions.
