British Hill gold resource grows beyond 175,000oz

British Hill gold resource grows beyond 175,000oz

24 August 2026 | British Hill Gold Project, Western Australia

Forrestania Resources has reported an updated Mineral Resource Estimate of 3.29 million tonnes at 1.66 grams per tonne gold for 175,690 ounces at its British Hill deposit in Western Australia.

The project sits on granted Mining Lease M77/1256, approximately 75 kilometres south-south-east of Southern Cross in the Yilgarn Mineral Field.

More than 100,000oz in the Indicated category

The updated estimate includes 2.03 million tonnes at 1.54 grams per tonne gold for 100,260 ounces in the Indicated category. The remaining Inferred component contains 1.26 million tonnes at 1.86 grams per tonne for 75,430 ounces.

The estimate uses a 0.5-gram-per-tonne cut-off and incorporates results from the first six holes of Forrestania’s current reverse-circulation campaign, totalling 1,940 metres. A total of 328 holes — 290 reverse-circulation and 38 diamond holes — were used in the resource model.

British Hill is interpreted as a structurally controlled greenstone-hosted gold system. Mineralisation occurs within sheared and quartz-veined rocks, including banded iron formation and metasedimentary units, in a stacked structural setting.

Drilling continues with three rigs

Three reverse-circulation rigs remain active, focusing on extensions along strike and down dip. Mineralisation is reported to remain open in several directions, giving the current program scope to test both resource growth and continuity.

Forrestania is also advancing a pre-feasibility study. The resource has been assessed on the basis of potential open-pit extraction, while metallurgical testwork has indicated gold recoveries of more than 90 per cent through conventional carbon-in-leach processing.

The company’s processing assumption considers potential treatment through the Edna May plant, although a milling arrangement has not been announced as secured.

Why it matters

The increase in higher-confidence ounces gives Forrestania a stronger technical base for mine planning and project studies. Continued drilling and the pre-feasibility work could support demand for exploration, geology, resource modelling, mine-planning and metallurgical services, but no development decision or recruitment program has been announced.

The next material steps are the remaining drill results, any further resource revisions and completion of the development studies needed to test an economic pathway for British Hill.
