Terra Critical Minerals has secured land-access approval across its entire Glen Eden tungsten project in northern New South Wales, removing a key field-access hurdle as the company works towards a modern drilling program.
The project hosts a conceptual Exploration Target of 20–30 million tonnes grading 0.18–0.29% tungsten trioxide equivalent, defined to a depth of about 100–150 metres. Terra stressed that the target is conceptual and that there has not yet been sufficient modern exploration to estimate a Mineral Resource.
Broad historical mineralisation
Historical drilling at Glen Eden returned broad mineralised intervals, including 282 metres at 0.28% tungsten trioxide equivalent from seven metres, 235 metres at 0.25% from 15 metres, and 392 metres at 0.14% from three metres.
Eighteen holes were drilled in the project’s core zone between 1963 and 2006 for a total of 3,388 metres. The deepest hole reached about 395 metres vertically, while the interpreted mineralised system remains open at depth and its deeper extent is largely untested.
The mineralisation sits within an approximately 500-metre-diameter complex of greisen, stockwork and breccia, surrounded by a broader hydrothermal alteration system measuring about 1,500 by 800 metres. A review of historical data also identified average bismuth grades of 121 parts per million within the Exploration Target, although bismuth is not included in the metal-equivalent calculations.
Why the approval matters
Written land-access arrangements are an important prerequisite for exploration work in New South Wales. Securing access across the full project area gives Terra the ability to progress field programs while it completes the remaining environmental, heritage and statutory requirements.
The milestone moves Glen Eden closer to the planned drilling campaign intended to test the scale and continuity of the mineralised system and further define the existing Exploration Target.
If drilling is successful, the work could provide the technical basis needed to evaluate a maiden Mineral Resource. The program would also generate activity for drilling contractors, geological teams and supporting exploration services, although the company has not announced specific vacancies.
Next steps
Terra said it plans to drill the Glen Eden Exploration Target to support evaluation under JORC standards once site access preparations and remaining statutory approvals are complete.
The project forms part of the company’s New England critical-minerals portfolio, which is focused on tungsten, tin, molybdenum, bismuth and precious metals. Glen Eden lies within a region that also hosts the developing Taronga tin and Hillgrove antimony projects.
