20 August 2026 | Gold Duke Project, Wiluna, Western Australia
Western Gold Resources has confirmed a mineral resource of 4.84 million tonnes at 1.8 grams per tonne gold for 277,000 ounces at its Gold Duke Project, about 35 kilometres south-west of Wiluna.
The annual mineral resource statement incorporates the updated estimate first announced on 29 December 2025 and effective from 20 December 2025. It therefore represents a formal annual review and consolidation of the project's resource base rather than a new discovery announced today.
The estimate includes 1.60 million tonnes at 1.6 grams per tonne for 81,000 ounces in the Measured category, 450,000 tonnes at 1.6 grams per tonne for 23,000 ounces Indicated, and 2.79 million tonnes at 1.9 grams per tonne for 174,000 ounces Inferred. Totals may differ slightly because of rounding.
Higher-confidence inventory
Measured and Indicated resources now total 2.05 million tonnes at 1.6 grams per tonne for 104,000 ounces. This compares with 72,000 ounces in June 2025, an increase of about 44 per cent. The Measured component rose from 3,000 ounces to 81,000 ounces.
The overall contained resource increased from 214,000 ounces to 277,000 ounces, or 29 per cent.
Western Gold based the update on 33,980 metres of close-spaced reverse-circulation grade-control and infill drilling completed across Stage 1 deposits during 2025.
Why it matters
Increasing the proportion of higher-confidence resources gives Western Gold a stronger technical basis for mine design, scheduling and economic evaluation. It can also reduce uncertainty when converting the resource into a production target, although further study and reserve work are required before development outcomes can be assured.
Gold Duke already has mining approvals for the Eagle, Emu, Golden Monarch and Gold King deposits, and Western Gold has previously outlined an ore-processing arrangement using the Wiluna plant.
Next steps
The updated resource is being used in an expanded scoping study assessing a larger production target and a possible extension to mine life. The study will be important in defining the preferred development scale and the technical work required before an investment decision.
