Kuniko drilling extends Silica Hill mineralised system by 100m

Kuniko Limited says two Phase 2 diamond holes have extended the mineralised system at Silica Hill, part of the Commonwealth Project in the Lachlan Fold Belt.

The two holes, CMKNI007 and CMKNI008, were completed for a combined 724m. They intersected the targeted alteration, disseminated sulphides and sulphide-bearing stringer and stockwork veining above and below the earlier CMKNI004 intersection.

Continuity outside the block model

CMKNI007 was drilled about 60m down dip of CMKNI004 and CMKNI008 about 40m up dip. Together, the three holes demonstrate approximately 100m of up-dip to down-dip continuity.

All three holes lie outside the existing mineralised block model. Kuniko said this creates potential to expand the Silica Hill resource footprint ahead of a planned Mineral Resource Estimate update.

The visual geological observations are encouraging, but assays for the two new holes remain pending. The new holes should not be assigned grades until laboratory results are available.

Why it matters

The result indicates that the high-grade system intersected during Phase 1 may continue beyond the area represented in the current model. The earlier CMKNI004 hole included a previously reported 3.4m at 50g/t gold equivalent, including a 0.5m massive sulphide vein at 347g/t gold equivalent.

For project development, the immediate value of Phase 2 is the additional geological and assay data it can contribute to an updated resource. Continued drilling and downhole geophysics also support ongoing work for drilling contractors, geologists, field teams and technical services.

Next steps

Kuniko plans to PVC-case CMKNI007 for a future downhole electromagnetic survey aimed at identifying conductive sulphide mineralisation around the hole.

Phase 2 drilling is continuing at Commonwealth Main Shaft and Commonwealth South. Laboratory assays from CMKNI007 and CMKNI008, further drilling results and the planned resource update are the next key milestones.
