6 August 2026 | Queensland - Breakthrough Minerals has reported high-grade copper-gold results from resource expansion drilling at the Turpentine deposit within its North Queensland Copper-Gold Project.

The first holes testing the interpreted northern down-plunge extension returned:

  • 16m at 1.30% copper equivalent from 180m, including 6m at 2.18% copper equivalent
  • 19m at 1.03% copper equivalent from 216m, including:
    • 9m at 1.84% copper equivalent
    • 4m at 2.83% copper equivalent

A third hole within the existing resource returned:

  • 31m at 0.52% copper equivalent from 210m, including 7m at 1.02% copper equivalent

Breakthrough said the holes directly validated a northern down-plunge target identified using gravity inversion modelling and magnetic data.

Importantly, the reported assay intervals in two of the holes finished in mineralisation, with additional samples still awaiting laboratory results.

Why it matters: Turpentine is Breakthrough’s largest deposit, hosting an Inferred Mineral Resource of 8.7Mt at 1.16% copper equivalent, containing approximately 101,000 tonnes of copper equivalent metal.

The new drilling indicates the mineralised system continues beyond the existing resource envelope and may support future resource growth.

Six additional holes have already been completed along the northern target and are awaiting assays.

Breakthrough also reported results from the Barbara deposit, where drilling confirmed mineralisation remains open at depth. The deepest hole intersected 73m at 0.24% copper equivalent from 503m, including 10m at 0.56% copper equivalent.

The company’s broader North Queensland portfolio currently contains approximately 200,000 tonnes of copper equivalent metal, with drilling continuing as part of a 10,000m exploration campaign.

For Queensland’s copper sector, the results strengthen the growth potential of two established deposits within a larger regional copper-gold portfolio.
