MES is seeking an experienced Senior OP Mine Geologist to join an innovative and leading mining company at their world-class lithium project on a 12-month contract.
This is a hands-on role as you will be responsible for managing one RC drill rig, completing pit grade control, drill planning, sample collection/submission, and liaising daily with the mine site team to communicate daily drill plans.
Requirements:
- Degree in Geology (or similar qualification);
- Hold a current 'C' Class WA Driver's Licence;
- National Police Clearance;
- Excellent communication & people skills;
- Proficiency with Surpac or similar mining software packages.
Position Duties:
- Liaise with drill crew daily – review and sign daily drill plod;
- Drill planning;
- Attend morning production meeting – prepare .pptx slide based on the plan for the day and attend 2wk planning meeting when available;
- Maintain and update drill tracker;
- Update acquire database;
- Manage all Sample details;
- Survey collar pick-ups (GPS Collar Co-Ords);
- Survey requests for collar set out and pickup – Ensures all collars are picked up after drilling;
- Ordering of all consumables required i.e. Sample bags, chip trays;
- Liaises and coordinates sample submission and pick-up with SGS.
