Our client, a successful WA gold miner, requires an Underground Drill & Blast Engineer to work on their owner-operator underground mine in the goldfields.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Mining Engineering or similar;
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, a 3D CAD software package;
  • Current WA Manual Driver's Licence (preferred);
  • Current National Police Clearance (or the ability to obtain one quickly);
  • Proven experience using Deswik or Surpac.

Position Duties:

  • Drill and blast planning;
  • Deliver drill and blast designs;
  • Ring design;
  • Monitor drill and blast practices underground;
  • Liaising with production drillers and production charging personnel to identify production issues and compliance to standards;
  • Work closely with the operational supervisors and production schedulers to ensure daily, weekly and monthly targets are achieved.
