Our client, a well-established WA gold producer, is seeking a Core Technician to provide short-term cover at their northern Goldfields operation, working on a 2/1 FIFO roster.

You will be responsible for supporting the geology team through accurate and efficient core yard operations, ensuring all core processing and sampling activities are completed to a high standard.
About You
- Proven experience in a Core Technician or similar role
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow QA/QC procedures
- Experience working with diamond drill core
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Manual driver’s licence (essential)
Position Duties:
- Accurate and detailed core processing, including core orientation, metre marking, RQD, photography, sampling, cutting and dispatch
- Preparation of sample bags in line with site QAQC protocols, including insertion of QAQC samples (blanks, standards and duplicates) as requested by geologists
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in all work areas
- Prompt and efficient storage and cataloguing of diamond drill core for future retrieval
- Accurate and timely data entry and catalogue updates on the server
- Participation in re-log programs, including locating and retrieving core, racking in the core yard, cleaning and remarking, re-photographing and sampling as directed
- Stocktake of consumables, maintaining stock registers and reporting to the Senior Core Technician for reordering
- Monitoring equipment and vehicles, completing daily pre-starts, and arranging or reporting servicing and repairs as required
