An established WA gold producer with multiple open-pit and near-mine ore sources in the Goldfields is seeking an experienced Mine Geology Superintendent to lead the site geology function. The operation is in a growth phase, with active mining, ongoing drilling and study work to support future production, so this role will suit someone who likes building systems and lifting geological standards.
About you
- Degree in Geology/Geoscience
- 8+ years’ experience in open pit gold mining, with time in a senior/supervisory role
- Strong understanding of WA gold systems and GC workflows
- Comfortable working in a lean, fast-moving owner-operator environment
- Capable people manager with good reporting and stakeholder skills
- Surpac/Datamine/Leapfrog or similar experience

Position Duties:
- Lead and mentor a small team of mine geologists, pit techs and samplers
- Oversee grade control, mapping, ore mark-ups and reconciliation
- Ensure sampling, QA/QC and data management meet company standards
- Work closely with mine planning to optimise ore recovery and minimise dilution
- Feed near-mine opportunities back to exploration and resource teams
- Contribute to budgeting, contractor management and mine-to-mill improvements
- Maintain HSE standards across the geology function
