Mining Employment Services is currently seeking an experienced Process Manager for a key leadership opportunity with an ASX-listed base metals producer at its Western Australian operation.
This is a rare opportunity to join an established operation as it moves through an exciting restart and recommissioning phase. The role will suit a hands-on processing leader who enjoys taking ownership of plant performance, building capable teams, improving systems, and playing a key part in bringing processing infrastructure back into production.
The operation includes established processing infrastructure, with a strong focus on safe, reliable plant operation, metallurgical control, production delivery and continuous improvement.
About the Role
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the processing plant. You will provide leadership across the processing department, support recommissioning and operational readiness activities, and work closely with mining, maintenance and technical teams to maximise throughput, recovery and plant reliability.
This role offers genuine influence during a critical phase of the operation, including input into plant readiness, commissioning, refurbishment activities, process optimisation and team development.
About You
To be successful, you will ideally have:
- Degree qualifications in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline;
- Demonstrated experience leading processing operations within the mining industry;
- Strong knowledge of hydrometallurgical processing, ideally including Heap Leach and SX-EW operations;
- Experience with plant restart, commissioning, operational readiness or brownfield improvement projects will be highly regarded;
- Proven ability to improve plant performance, recovery and operational efficiency;
- Experience managing multidisciplinary operational teams;
- Strong communication, leadership and planning skills;
- A genuine commitment to safety, continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Position Duties:
- Lead day-to-day processing operations across hydrometallurgical processing facilities, including Heap Leach and SX-EW circuits;
- Provide strong leadership to the processing team and promote a positive safety culture;
- Drive plant performance, production targets, metallurgical recovery and operational reliability;
- Support restart and recommissioning activities, including operational readiness, HAZOPs, plant reviews, commissioning and refurbishment works;
- Monitor and optimise plant performance, reagent consumption and process efficiency;
- Identify bottlenecks and implement practical process improvements;
- Work closely with maintenance teams to maximise plant availability and minimise downtime;
- Lead production planning and ensure operational priorities are achieved;
- Develop, mentor and coach processing personnel;
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across safety, production, recovery and operating performance.
