Our client is a respected Australian gold producer with multiple underground mining areas operating and under development within an established regional hub. This is an opportunity to work closely with operations, directly influence mine performance and contribute to the next stage of underground growth.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Underground Mining Manager, you will be a key member of the Technical Services team, providing senior-level mine planning, design, scheduling and operational support.

This position would suit a practical, site-focused Mining Engineer who enjoys turning technical plans into safe and achievable production outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and review underground mine designs, schedules and production plans.
  • Optimise development, stoping sequences and production performance.
  • Monitor performance against plan and investigate operational variances.
  • Provide practical technical support to underground production teams.
  • Work closely with Mining, Geology, Survey and Technical Services.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, productivity, efficiency and cost performance.
  • Contribute to longer-term planning and underground growth projects.
  • Mentor and support Mining Engineers within the team.

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
  • At least seven years’ underground hard-rock mining experience, preferably within Australian gold operations.
  • Demonstrated experience working at Senior Mining Engineer level.
  • Strong underground mine planning, design, scheduling and production-support capability.
  • Proficiency with Deswik, Surpac or comparable mine-planning software.
  • Sound understanding of underground development and production mining methods.
  • Ability to provide practical technical solutions in an operating environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and operational teams.
  • Previous Australian mine-site and FIFO experience.
