Our client, an established gold producer in Western Australia, is seeking a Field Technician to support diamond core processing for underground and surface drilling programs.
This is a great opportunity for someone with practical core yard experience, strong attention to detail and a commitment to working safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Diamond core processing, including orientation lines and metre marking
- RQD, density and magnetic susceptibility measurements and data entry
- Core photography and image uploads
- Core cutting and whole- and half-core sampling
- Sample preparation, dispatch paperwork and loading
- Forklift operation and general core yard duties
- Assisting with core and pulp sample records
- Maintaining a safe, tidy and organised core shed, including equipment and vehicles
About You
- Previous core processing experience, or a background in manual labour and accurate data entry
- Current WA manual C-class driver’s licence
- Current Australian High Risk Work Licence – Forklift
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with Imago, acQuire or similar systems would be advantageous
- Basic mechanical knowledge and confidence using hand tools
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
An MR or HR driver’s licence and an IT/loader ticket would be advantageous. Experience in, or willingness to assist with, underground geological tasks would also be well regarded.
