Our client is a well-established mineral sands mining operation located in Western Australia. The site is a productive open pit operation with a strong focus on safe production, accurate reconciliation, and efficient mine planning. A collaborative, hands-on technical environment supports strong engagement between mining, technical, and contracting teams.

They are now seeking an experienced Mine Surveyor to provide essential surveying services and technical support to ensure accurate mine execution and data integrity across all mining activities.

About You

  • Qualification in Mine Surveying or equivalent post-secondary studies;
  • Authorised Mine Surveyor (Grade 2) or ability to obtain;
  • Strong understanding of relevant WHS legislation and mining regulations;
  • Eligible or willing to obtain Statutory Supervisor certification;
  • Strong experience in open pit or mineral sands mining environments;
  • Proficient in mine survey and planning software (e.g. Surpac or similar);
  • Experience with GPS machine guidance systems and design upload processes;
  • Drone operation experience or relevant certification (RPL desirable);

Position Duties:

  • Provide mine survey services including design layout and control for ore, tails, clay, and other material types;
  • Maintain and update pre-mining, current, and post-mining topographic models;
  • Conduct end-of-month physicals, volume reporting, and reconciliation accurately and on time;
  • Manage pit excavation models and monitor volumes of material mined;
  • Support rehabilitation design, planning, and implementation;
  • Undertake plant set-out and control surveys;
  • Maintain service plans including water, power, and access roads;
  • Conduct stockpile surveys and volume reporting (including HMC stockpiles);
  • Maintain site survey control networks and associated data systems;
  • Provide technical input and support to mine planning and operational teams;
  • Deliver training and guidance to operational personnel as required;
  • Support continuous improvement of survey systems, processes, and technology use;
