We are seeking an experienced Quarry Manager to provide short-term leadership coverage at a mineral sands operation in Western Australia.
This operation has recently transitioned into production following a change in ownership, with pre-commissioning completed earlier this year and mining activities now underway, supported by an established earthmoving contractor.
About the Role
This is a temporary contract position providing coverage for site leadership due to unforeseen circumstances. The role will involve overseeing day-to-day mining operations, ensuring compliance, and maintaining safe production outcomes.
Initial coverage periods:
- 12 May – 19 May (8/6 roster)
- 26 May – 2 June (8/6 roster)
- Potential for additional ad hoc coverage in June and July
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Quarry Manager Certification (WA) – essential
- SSE (Site Senior Executive) qualification – essential
- Proven experience in open pit / mineral sands or similar operations
- Strong leadership and decision-making capability
- Ability to step into a site and quickly provide effective coverage
Position Duties:
- Provide leadership and supervision of mining operations
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and safety requirements
- Oversee contractor performance and site activities
- Maintain production targets while prioritising safety
- Act as the site’s responsible statutory authority when required
