Our client, a well-established underground mining company, is seeking an experienced HSET Underground Trainer to join their team on a busy and technically advanced operation. This role is critical in driving safety, training, and compliance outcomes across underground activities, ensuring personnel are equipped with the skills and knowledge to operate safely and effectively.

What you’ll bring

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience in underground mining operations (metalliferous preferred)
  • Previous experience in a training, safety, or HSET-focused role
  • Strong understanding of underground mining equipment, processes, and hazards
  • Knowledge of relevant mining legislation and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Ability to work on a site-based roster

Position Duties:

  • Deliver underground training programs in line with site and statutory requirements
  • Facilitate inductions, refresher training, and competency-based assessments
  • Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Conduct field-based coaching, mentoring, and verification of competencies (VOC)
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of training materials and systems
  • Promote a strong safety culture and reinforce safe work practices underground
  • Work closely with operations and leadership teams to identify training needs and gaps
  • Ensure all training activities align with site HSET policies and procedures
