29Metals said copper production fell to 4.2kt in the September 2026 quarter from 4.8kt in the June quarter, reflecting lower ore milled and lower copper recovery. Zinc production declined to 2.0kt from 3.1kt, which the company attributed to lower zinc ore tonnes milled and lower zinc grade.
At Golden Grove, total ore mined increased 17% quarter-on-quarter to 351kt. Mining at Xantho Extended recommenced in October after the orebody was offline during the quarter, and 29Metals said it plans a progressive production ramp-up, with two additional stopes scheduled for the December quarter.
For Capricorn Copper, 29Metals said water levels are no longer an impediment to a production restart, but approval for Tailings Storage Facility 3 remains the critical path for a restart decision. The company said it submitted its response to a regulator request for information during the quarter and expects to complete its restart definitive feasibility study later in the December quarter.
