Tivan Limited said Timor-Leste’s National Mineral Authority has approved preparatory civil works for maiden drilling at the Scorpion Prospect. The approval covers land clearance, access-road works and drill-pad preparation within the Baucau Project concession.
The company said it has submitted a Simplified Environmental Impact Statement and Environmental Management Plan in support of an Environmental License, which is required before drilling can begin. Tivan said it is progressing operational preparations while the final regulatory approval process continues.
Tivan’s proposed maiden program comprises up to six diamond drill holes for up to 1,500 metres within a 2.3 square kilometre area. The company expects the program, if commenced, to take six to seven weeks and said it is intended to provide subsurface geological information for follow-up target prioritisation.
