Lion Rock Minerals has announced that its Yaoundé, Cameroon laboratory has been officially commissioned following independent endorsement. The company said the facility will serve as its central hub for sample preparation, splitting and logistics supporting exploration activities in Cameroon.
The laboratory is equipped to process 80 samples a day through its heavy mineral sands preparation stream, equivalent to 400 samples a week. Lion Rock said HMS concentrates and representative whole-sample splits for rare earth element analysis can now be prepared in parallel, with samples subsequently dispatched under chain of custody to independent accredited laboratories for analysis and advanced mineralogy.
According to Lion Rock, VBKOM issued a letter of endorsement after its Competent Person inspected the laboratory and found its protocols and standards aligned with industry-accepted practice for preparing heavy mineral sand concentrates for dispatch to accredited international analytical laboratories.
