NewPeak reports two drill intercepts exceeding 650m at Las Opeñas

NewPeak Metals said assays from its maiden 2026 drilling program at its 100%-owned Las Opeñas permit in San Juan Province, Argentina, confirmed what the company described as a large-scale gold-zinc-silver-lead mineralised system.

Discovery hole 26-LODH-023 returned 663m at 0.42g/t AuEq from surface to the end of the hole, including 283m at 0.67g/t AuEq from 7m. The reported gold-equivalent calculation includes gold, zinc, silver and lead.

Hole 26-LODH-027 returned 657m at 0.30g/t AuEq from surface, including 117m at 0.60g/t AuEq from 77m and 202m at 0.50g/t AuEq from 77m, according to the company.

NewPeak said the two western-most holes, 26-LODH-023 and 26-LODH-027, delivered the strongest results of the program. It interpreted gold grades as increasing toward the Belleza Breccia volcanic centre and said mineralisation remained open and could strengthen in that direction.

The company said its Phase 2 diamond drilling program at Las Opeñas was scheduled to commence in mid-October 2026. The minimum 1,000m program is intended to test the western extension of the mineralised system, with scope to extend subject to exploration results, core observations, rig availability and funding.
