Artemis targets mid-October drilling start at Madura

Artemis Resources said heavy September rain caused regional road closures and delayed its earlier planned drilling start at the Madura Copper-Gold Project. The company expects drilling at Cassowary and Sharon Dam to begin in mid-October.

The initial program is planned to comprise three deep diamond holes totalling 2,250 metres, with two holes proposed at Cassowary and one at Sharon Dam. Artemis said the targets lie within an underexplored structural corridor and considers the Proterozoic basement setting prospective for intrusion-related copper-gold mineralisation.

At Cassowary, Artemis said heritage clearance is in place for four drill sites and drilling contractors have been appointed, with commencement expected in October subject to road access. At Sharon Dam, an updated access agreement has been executed between Red Metal and Traditional Owners, and a heritage survey is scheduled for mid-October; drilling remains subject to heritage clearance.

The first Sharon Dam drill hole will be co-funded through a Western Australian Government Exploration Incentive Scheme grant, according to Artemis. The company’s indicative timetable places Cassowary diamond drilling in mid-October and Sharon Dam drilling in late October, subject to conditions including water supply, road access and heritage clearance.
