DevEx said RC drilling at Nabarlek North, north-west of the historical Nabarlek Mine, intersected uranium mineralisation along the Nabarlek Fault Corridor. Reported intervals included 1.7 metres at 1,116ppm eU3O8 from 168.8 metres down-hole and 2.3 metres at 920ppm eU3O8 from 184 metres, including 0.8 metres at 1,361ppm eU3O8. The company said these equivalent uranium results were derived from down-hole gamma readings and laboratory assays remain pending.
The company said the current program is the first phase of a targeted multi-year exploration strategy. RC and diamond drilling have tested priority targets at Big Radon, KP, Sandfire and Nabarlek North, with 40 holes completed for 11,050 metres.
At KP, DevEx said preliminary geological observations from diamond hole NBDD26004 identified intense chlorite-haematite alteration at the unconformity, associated with down-hole gamma readings of up to 400 counts per second, converting to about 30ppm eU3O8. The company said the alteration could provide a vector toward a Nabarlek-type uranium deposit, although the hole did not encounter the interpreted KP fault zone in basement schists.
DevEx said preliminary hyperspectral survey review showed correlation between north-west structures and illite crystallinity in overlying sandstones, highlighting several kilometre-scale areas for priority field investigation. It also said the lack of significant uranium results and absence of chlorite alteration adjacent to the Angularli Fault Zone downgraded the Sandfire target area.
