Maritana said the Native Vegetation Clearing Permit was granted by LGIRS on 19 September 2026, completing the statutory approvals required for earthworks and construction of the new process-plant section at its 2.5Mtpa Black Swan Processing Hub, about 50km northeast of Kalgoorlie. The company said approvals for the processing facility and carbon-in-leach circuit were granted in July and August respectively.
The company has extended its early works agreement with GR Engineering to 31 October 2027, adding A$6.5 million to the existing A$25 million commitment. Maritana said the extension is intended to maintain detailed engineering, long-lead procurement, demolition and bulk earthworks while the EPC contract is finalised. Procurement includes elution columns, CIL bolted tanks, intertank screens and platework packages.
Maritana is targeting a mid-2027 restart of mining at Boorara and said its 60,000m resource conversion campaign is continuing across the Maritana Kalgoorlie project area. The company has also stated that it is preparing for first gold in the second half of calendar 2027; this is a forward-looking target subject to assumptions and risks.
