Sigma Lithium temporarily suspends mining and industrial production

Sigma Lithium said all mining and industrial production was temporarily suspended on September 30. The company attributed the suspension to what it described as an atypical 15-day delay by the Federal Court of Appeals in reviewing its legal defence emergency motion.

The company said it remains focused on expansion plans and expects to deliver 330,000 tonnes of lithium oxide concentrate in FY27. It said it would postpone its 12-month guidance of 240,000 tonnes by three months.

Sigma Lithium said it would maintain commercial and recycling operations associated with dry-stacked tailings during the temporary suspension. It also said it expects those operations to generate cash flow and continue to self-fund the company during the suspension.
