Aura appoints president, CFO and strategy chief for Tiris development

Aura said Carr, previously its chief adviser for operations, will run the business day to day and lead the executive team. Davey is due to join as chief financial officer in early November 2026 after completing his current role at Fortescue, while Carter will lead digitalisation initiatives as chief strategy officer.

The company said final engineering estimates had slightly delayed the Tiris Bankable Feasibility Study, which is now targeted for release by mid-October 2026. Aura said the study is intended to support ongoing discussions with potential strategic partners and project financiers, while its project-financing target remains the end of 2026.

Pilot plant construction is under way at Bir Moghrein, Mauritania, with commissioning expected to start in early November, Aura said. The company said the testing programme is due to finish in early December and will process the three main Tiris ore types and a 48-tonne bulk composite sample.
