PDI Gold updates resources and reserves following Robex merger

PDI Gold updates resources and reserves following Robex merger

PDI Gold has released an update to its Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves, reporting 176.0Mt of Indicated Mineral Resources at 1.22g/t gold containing 6.9Moz, plus 87.8Mt of Inferred Mineral Resources at 1.14g/t for 3.2Moz. The company reported Probable Ore Reserves of 110.9Mt at 1.34g/t gold containing 4.8Moz.

The company said its previous estimates pre-dated the merger with Robex Resources and related solely to the Bankan Gold Project, whose estimates are unchanged in the update. PDI attributed additions to Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves partly to the acquisition, while mining and processing depletion at Kiniéro and Nampala reduced the estimates.

PDI said the Robex merger added 1.536Moz of Ore Reserves. It also cited model updates, economic factors and stockpile changes as contributors to Reserve changes, offset in part by 199koz of depletion from mining and processing activities.

At Bankan, PDI said its exploitation permit application remains under review by Guinea's Ministry of Mines and Geology. The company expects the permit to be granted after completion of government processes, but said the timing and outcome are outside its control and that it could not develop Bankan as presently contemplated if the permit were not granted.
