WIN Metals has announced sale and purchase agreements with Astral Resources NL to rationalise contiguous tenure holdings and mineral rights across part of the Mt Edwards Nickel Project tenure. Under the agreements, Astral is to pay WIN $8.05 million plus GST on completion and a further $1 million plus GST following registration of mining lease M15/96.
Completion is scheduled to occur by or on 5 October 2026, according to WIN. The transaction provides for Astral to receive tenure and all mineral rights, excluding lithium rights, across mining leases M15/96, M15/97, M15/100, M15/653 and M15/1271, as well as miscellaneous licence 15/254.
WIN said Astral will also receive nickel rights on M15/633 and an agreement over mineral rights excluding lithium across part of M15/99 containing gold mineralisation previously identified by Astral. Astral will assume tenure rent, rates, maintenance and management responsibilities where it becomes the tenure holder.
WIN said the divestment of M15/97, which includes the Zabel nickel resource, would leave its total nickel resource inventory at 12.33 million tonnes at 1.42% nickel for 174,540 tonnes of contained nickel.
