Timor-Leste's National Mineral Authority has awarded Category B environmental classification across Tivan's Baucau Project concessions MEL2023-CA-ZB003 and MEL2023-CA-ZB004. Tivan said the classification provides a regulatory pathway supporting commencement of its maiden drilling program.
The proposed program comprises up to six stratigraphic diamond holes for up to 1,500 metres within a 2.3km² area at the Scorpion Prospect. Tivan plans to begin in late October, with the work intended to provide subsurface geological information to refine and prioritise follow-up targets.
Tivan said drilling remains subject to ANM accepting its drilling plan and supporting documents, including an Environmental Management Plan and Simplified Environmental Impact Statement. The company said contractor engagement and mobilisation planning are under way, while the campaign is expected to run for five to six weeks.
