Nexus Minerals has more than doubled the Mineral Resource Estimate for its wholly owned Wallbrook Gold Project in Western Australia, lifting contained gold to 631,000 ounces.
The updated Wallbrook estimate stands at 13.3 million tonnes grading 1.5 grams per tonne gold. That represents a 108% increase from the previous 304,000-ounce estimate and includes an Indicated component of 4.3 million tonnes at 1.5g/t for 207,000 ounces, plus 9.0 million tonnes at 1.5g/t for 424,000 ounces in the Inferred category.
When the company's Pinnacles resource is included, Nexus now reports a group resource inventory of 14 million tonnes at 1.6g/t for 709,000 ounces of gold.
The updated Wallbrook inventory is led by the Crusader-Templar deposit, which contains 10.8 million tonnes at 1.5g/t for 533,000 ounces. Nexus has also declared maiden estimates for Payns, at 1.2 million tonnes grading 1.3g/t for 50,000 ounces, and Branches, at 1.3 million tonnes grading 1.1g/t for 48,000 ounces.
Wallbrook lies about 140 kilometres north-east of Kalgoorlie and 35 kilometres north of the Carosue Dam operations. The location places the project within an established Goldfields mining district while Nexus continues to assess the scale and development options for its resource base.
The next phase is expected to include diamond drilling from October. Nexus plans to use this work to improve drill density and support possible conversion to the Indicated category at Payns and Branches, while drilling at Amand is intended to provide additional structural information.
The company has also engaged Mincore to undertake a processing plant cost and sizing study. Results from that work are expected in the coming months and will help inform the project's development pathway.
Managing Director Andy Tudor said the updated estimate established a larger resource platform across the Nexus portfolio. The planned drilling, resource conversion work and processing study now form the immediate technical programme at Wallbrook.
