Brightstar Resources reported on 7 September 2026 that infill drilling at the Bull Oak deposit within its Sandstone Gold Project in Western Australia has returned further high-grade gold results, including 7 metres at 119 grams per tonne gold from 199 metres.
High-grade intercepts
The standout interval in hole BORC26036 included 1 metre at 751 grams per tonne from 202 metres. Other results included 21 metres at 3.83 grams per tonne from 262 metres, with 1 metre at 27.1 grams per tonne, and 7 metres at 12.2 grams per tonne from 87 metres, including 1 metre at 82.7 grams per tonne.
Brightstar also reported broader mineralised intervals, including 184 metres at 1.00 gram per tonne from 135 metres and 169 metres at 0.73 grams per tonne from 111 metres. The company said the drilling continues to confirm thick, lower-grade zones containing discrete higher-grade structures.
Resource and study work
Bull Oak currently has a mineral resource estimate of 10.5 million tonnes at 1.0 gram per tonne for 322,000 ounces of gold. It remains open at depth and is being assessed as a potential significant open-pit operation in the Sandstone prefeasibility study.
The current program comprises 39 reverse-circulation holes for about 7,500 metres and 11 diamond holes for about 2,900 metres. Results have been received for 28 reverse-circulation holes and three diamond holes, with the balance pending.
Next steps at Sandstone
Diamond core will support structural interpretation, geotechnical assessment and metallurgical testwork. Three drill rigs remain active at Sandstone, including two reverse-circulation rigs and one diamond rig.
Brightstar is targeting completion of the Sandstone prefeasibility study before the end of 2026. The wider Sandstone Gold Project has a mineral resource estimate of 2.9 million ounces at 1.3 grams per tonne gold.
