Platina Resources has confirmed a broad, shallow gold-mineralised system in maiden drilling at its Sunrise Bore Gold Project, about 44 kilometres south of Laverton in Western Australia. The first modern drilling at the project in 28 years returned a standout 29 metres at 3.38 grams per tonne gold from 11 metres, including 11 metres at 8.62 grams per tonne.
Maiden program validates historical mineralisation
Platina completed 23 reverse-circulation holes for 2,863 metres across six east-west drill lines. The program was designed to confirm historical mineralisation and establish a contemporary geological framework for further exploration.
Other results included 18 metres at 1.12 grams per tonne gold from 51 metres, 37 metres at 0.43 grams per tonne from 43 metres and 55 metres at 0.25 grams per tonne from six metres. The company says the results confirm that gold remains present within a broad structure extending beyond the initial drilling area.
Larger structure remains open
The program defined a mineralised structure more than 80 metres wide, with gold intersected close to surface and continuing along strike and down-dip. Only about 200 metres of a broader 1.2-kilometre mineralised trend was tested, leaving substantial strike length for follow-up work.
Platina plans to combine the new geological, drilling and assay information with historical datasets. That work will focus on the controls and orientation of higher-grade mineralisation, potential extensions to the system and priority targets for the next phase of drilling.
Follow-up work could support exploration crews
If further programs proceed, Sunrise Bore could support demand across exploration geology, RC drilling, field technicians, sampling, logistics and assay services. Platina has not announced the size or start date of the next program, and no recruitment timetable was included in the release.
The project remains at an early exploration stage. No Mineral Resource, Ore Reserve, mine plan or development decision has been reported for Sunrise Bore, so the current employment signal relates to potential exploration activity rather than mine construction or production.
