Our client, a successful Australian lithium mining company, is seeking to appoint an experienced Tenement Officer to join their team. The significant scale and quality of the operation has attracted a network of high-quality, global partners.
Reporting to the HSEA Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all the tenement holdings as well as drive improvements in the management and reporting practices.
About You:
- Knowledge of the Mining Act and Regulations
- Understanding of Aboriginal Heritage Act;
- Exposure to the Native Title Act (desirable);
- Geological or legal experience desirable;
- Self-sufficient and well organized;
- Previous exposure to drafting access agreements & interpreting legal documents and relevant legislation;
- Have a collaborative approach to achieve outcomes and coordinate approval requirements;
- GIS experience is preferred (Datamine/Mapinfo/ArcGIS);
- Proficient using Landtrack, Pronto, INX, MTO, and Tengraph.
Position Duties:
- Review and maintain minimum expenditure and provide advice to the Exploration Manager on expenditure requirements;
- Responsible for management of the tenements database, ensuring full and timely compliance with all statutory obligations;
- Liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders to complete tasks related to tenements;
- Manage tenement application processes, including all post-application compliance;
- Warden Court matters, including objections, compliance and agreement negotiation;
- Prepare and lodge tenement applications and various compliance documentation including renewals;
- Assist with budget preparation directly related to tenure;
- Provide strategic advice to the business in direct relation to tenements, land access and due diligence;
- Liaise with statutory bodies, and industry rep bodies regarding tenement management issues including amendments to mining legislation and regulations;
- Create, implement and continually evolve internal processes and procedures for tenement management;
- Prepare reports for the business as needed to ensure information is shared and transparent.
Experience
Demonstrated experience in land access approvals, tenement management or statutory reporting.
