Mining Employment Services is partnering with a well-established mining company to recruit an experienced Senior Resource Development Geologist for a key leadership role within a growing lithium operation.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing technical team and play a pivotal role in extending mine life through the planning, execution and delivery of resource development programs. Reporting directly to the Resource Development Superintendent, you will lead a team of geologists while remaining hands-on with drilling, data interpretation and resource growth initiatives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A degree in Geology or a related discipline
- Extensive experience in resource development, mine geology and/or operational mining environments
- Strong experience managing RC and diamond drilling programs
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop technical teams
- Sound understanding of geological modelling, resource evaluation and orebody interpretation
- Experience working with software such as Leapfrog, Vulcan and/or AcQuire
- Strong contractor management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities
- Current C Class Manual Driver's Licence
- Senior First Aid and 4WD certification (desirable)
As the Senior Resource Development Geologist, you will be responsible for designing and delivering resource development drilling programs that support resource growth, mine planning and long-term production objectives.
Position Duties:
- Leading and mentoring a team of Resource Development Geologists
- Planning and executing RC and diamond drilling programs
- Developing and promoting resource development targets aligned with life-of-mine strategies
- Managing drilling contractors and other key service providers
- Providing technical leadership in geological interpretation, targeting and data management
- Ensuring QAQC processes are maintained to the highest standard
- Managing budgets, schedules and project deliverables
- Working closely with mine planning and operational teams to optimise drilling programs
- Ensuring all geological data is accurately captured, validated and reported
- Driving a strong culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement
