Mining Employment Services is currently seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor for a 3-month labour hire contract, supporting a major Pilbara iron ore operation.
This is a site-based role on a regular 8/6 FIFO roster, providing environmental compliance, monitoring, reporting and advisory support to operational teams.
This is an excellent hands-on site opportunity with one of the stronger FIFO camp offerings in the Pilbara. Workers are accommodated in modern resort-style facilities with large rooms, quality dining and strong recreation options, including a gym, pool, cinema, tavern, cafe, sports courts and mini golf. Australian Mining described the facility as more than just a place to sleep, but a home away from home.
The successful candidate will work closely with site teams, stakeholders and regulatory bodies to support environmental obligations, approvals, incident management and ongoing compliance across an active open pit mining environment.
Position Duties:
- Provide onsite engagement with site teams to promote understanding and commitment to environmental compliance.
- Coordinate the LAP process, including timely progression and close-out.
- Support environmental auditing, inspections, monitoring and reporting.
- Assist with environmental incident reporting, action completion, action tracking and ICAMs.
- Provide professional and timely environmental advice to site personnel.
- Support stakeholders with scientific advice relating to environmental aspects of the project.
- Interpret legislation, government standards and agreements, and provide informed advice on risk management and improvement opportunities.
- Support the provision of information required for environmental approvals.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and participate in external audits as required.
- Assist with environmental incident investigations and follow-up corrective actions.
- Coordinate and execute environmental monitoring activities.
