An ASX-listed WA gold company with a strong landholding in the Laverton / Lake Carey corridor is seeking an experienced Exploration Manager to lead the next phase of drilling and resource growth across its Eastern Goldfields portfolio.
The opportunity
You’ll take ownership of near-mine and regional exploration over Archaean greenstone-hosted, structurally controlled gold systems typical of the district. The role will plan and deliver RC and DD campaigns, refine targets, integrate geophysics and historic datasets, and turn results into decisions that support future mining.
What you must bring
- Solid gold exploration background in the Laverton / Eastern Goldfields region (or very similar Archaean greenstone terrains).
- Strong understanding of structurally controlled, multi-lode gold systems.
- Proven experience designing, costing and executing drilling programmes (RC/DD).
- Ability to work around operating or near-development open pit/UG environments and prioritise drill metres that add ounces.
- Familiarity with WA approvals, heritage and working on granted mining leases.
- Leadership capability – able to run a small field/exploration team and work closely with management.
Why this role
- District-scale ground position in one of WA’s best gold belts.
- Mix of near-mine, brownfields and high-quality greenfields targets already defined.
- Well-backed business with a clear growth plan.
- Perth-based with fieldwork ex-Kalgoorlie/Laverton.
Position Duties:
- Develop and maintain the exploration strategy for the Laverton / Lake Carey project areas, aligned to resource growth targets.
- Generate, rank and refine targets using existing datasets, mapping, geophysics and drilling results.
- Plan, cost and schedule RC and diamond drilling programmes (near-mine, brownfields and selected greenfields).
- Supervise drilling in the field — daily QA/QC, sampling, contractor management, safety and logistics.
- Interpret drilling, assay and geological data and report results promptly to management.
- Build and maintain geological models in the context of local Laverton/Eastern Goldfields stratigraphy and structures.
- Prepare statutory and internal reports, including POWs, heritage and environmental requirements.
- Manage small exploration teams and contractors, including mentoring junior geologists and field staff.
- Work closely with mining/operations to prioritise drill metres that add ounces or de-risk development.
- Maintain HSE standards across all exploration activities.
